Major Crest of Macuil
History
1164
Éthur Lydda is born to a family of farmers in Western Adrestia.
1168
Abducted by Agarthans to be used in Crest experiments. Given the designation Candidate G.
1171
Successfully implanted with an artificial Crest of Macuil, Candidate G is given the name Georgius.
The Crest was created using a blood sample from a member of House Riegan that was altered using a Chevalier crest stone and dark magic. This experiment later went on to be perfected in replicating the Crest of Flames, using blood from the preserved corpse of Nemesis.
1172-1179
Over the next decade, he is trained as a soldier in Shambhala and at other locations controlled by the Agarthans. He excels in lances, dark magic, and horse riding in this time. Though not a proper member of the Agarthan military, the Death Knight undergoes similar training to further the goals of the Flame Emperor, and the two receive several joint missions.
1180
The matriarch of the Engels family requests an attendant to accompany her daughter Élodie to the Officer's Academy and ensure she does not fall out of line. Georgius is enrolled alongside her in the guise of a servant named Winston Gerontlus, infiltrating Garreg Mach Monastery as an agent of the Agarthans. He spends several months covertly working with Solon, Kronya, and Jeritza within the walls of the academy, only showing his true face when working with the Death Knight in Remire Village. When the war breaks out and the academy is closed, Georgius is reassigned to a new mission.
1181-1182
Georgius is deployed across the continent and even to foreign lands to exterminate Nabatean survivors that Agarthan spies have located. Their corpses are harvested to create new Relics to be used in the war against the Church. Ascalon Ξ is the first of these weapons, a lance using the Crest of Macuil. Aymr and the twelve Dark Replicas are created with the parts acquired later, and any remaining stones go towards Demonic Beast experimentation.
1183-1184
After collecting a sufficient number of corpses to construct all the Relics they need, Goergius is assigned to Élodie once more with his true appearance. He is unsettled by fighting humans in open warfare, as his entire mission was about saving humanity.
1185
Depending on the actions of his comrades, Georgius remains with the Agarthans or defects to one of several factions. If he is not recruited, he is mortally wounded and transforms into a Demonic Beast before his death in battle.

Trivia
• Chevalier is the Crest representing the Sun Arcana (19), while Riegan represents the Moon (18). Subtracting the Moon from the Sun results in The Magician (1), which is represented by the Crest of Macuil. This is how the Crest was created using altered blood from Riegan and a crest stone of Chevalier. It's also speculated that the original Nabateans with the blood of Riegan and Fraldarius were children of Macuil.• The alchemically altered Crest Stone was implanted into "Candidate G" and attached to the heart in a process similar to the Crest Stone of Sothis in Byleth. Candidates A, B, C, D, E, and F all experienced rejection by the stone and perished. The successful bonding of the stone to Candidate G earned him a name, and caused small organisms called "crestcytes" to proliferate in his bloodstream, birthed inside his heart. These tiny black worm-like parasites feed on his life force while also helping prevent his death, sealing up punctures in veins.• As Godfrey Riegan died in 1177, it was actually one of his predecessors who died decades prior who's blood was stolen during funeral preparations. The crest stone of Chevalier used in experimentation has been in reserves for some time.• The experimental nature of the Crest makes it highly unstable, activating randomly and causing pain to Georgius. When the crest activates, the glowing image of the symbol flickers and jitters. Like the experiments done to implant additional crests into the children of House Hresvelg and House Ordelia, this results in a reduced life expectancy.• Georgius is weak to any weapons or combat arts that target Monsters. As a final defense mechanism when he nears death, the crest stone will swallow his body and turn him into a Demonic Beast similar to when a Relic is used by someone who lacks a Crest. There is no known way to reverse the process. The form resembles a cross between the Giant Bird class of demonic beasts and a Wyvern.• Ascalon in mythology is the dragon slaying spear wielded by Saint George. The added Ξ (Xi) at the end of the name represents it's status as an imperfect replica, similar to Freikugel Λ, Failnaught Τ, Areadbar Γ, and Lúin Λ. Despite not having an original model to be considered a Replica, it is still given the signifier due to it's unstable construction and dark appearance. Aymr was created with a more refined technique. Both require Agarthium rather than Umbral Steel to be repaired.• The spear's unique combat art, Roc's Gale, is effective against Dragon Foes like other Relic arts, while also damaging all shields like a Gambit. As a tradeoff, all attacks with the spear deal 10 damage to the user after combat, even if they bear the Crest of Macuil.
NieR Replicant 1.22
Seven Knights Revolution
• Prior to the timeskip, Georgius appears similar to Young Nier from NieR Replicant. His guise as Winston resembles Nemo from Seven Knights Revolution. The identity of Winston ceases to exist during the war, thus he has no older faceclaim.• His alias at the academy, Winston Gerontlus, comes from two sources. Winston Churchill, prime minster of England during World War II, had a personal plane called The Ascalon. Gerontlus was the father of Saint Georgius, who wielded Ascalon in myth.• His birth name Éthur is the given name of Mac Cuil, and Lydda is the birthplace of Saint Georgius (Saint George of Lydda).• The seven Nabateans he killed during the war were called Irgoll, Omna, Bagna. Tuiri, Decair, Balor, Nuada. Each were harvested to create the new Crest Weapons, many having their stones broken down and reforged to mimic other Crest Stones.• The mixing of bones made most of the Relics flawed, and only the Dark Creator Sword and Aymr had access to a combat art thanks to the pilfering of crest stones of Timotheos and Noa and relying of Edelgard's twin crests respectively. Ascalon's combat art came at a cost of destabilizing the entire weapon.

Encounters
Three Houses
During the Academy Phase, Georgius primarily appears as his student guise Winston. He is battled a single time during The Remire Calamity, as one of the two Cavaliers accompanying the Death Knight with his true appearance. He returns to blending in with the students until Thales retrieves him and Kronya the following month, and does not appear again in White Clouds. In the Crimson Flower route, Georgius appears in the Paralogue Darkness Beneath The Earth as an allied unit. Speaking to him with Byleth twice or Jeritza once will cause him to join the player for the duration of the war. He cannot be deployed in Legend of the Lake, like Hubert and Edelgard. If he has not achieved an A Support with any characters, he returns to the service of Those Who Slither in The Dark and is slain alongside them.In the Azure Moon route, Georgius appears during The Siege of Arianrhod alongside Cornelia. He withdraws when defeated, or if Cornelia is slain. He next appears during Taking Fort Merceus, and can optionally be spoken to by certain characters which will cause him to not attack your army unless they engage with him. Georgius' final appearance is in Clash at the Imperial Capital, where he can be spoken with again if spoken to at Fort Merceus. Doing so results in him leaving the battlefield and vanishing for the remainder of the story. Otherwise, he transforms into a Demonic Beast after being defeated and is slain in battle. In the Verdant Wind and Silver Snow routes, Georgius appears during Taking Fort Merceus, and can optionally be spoken to by certain characters which will cause him to not attack your army unless they engage with him. He next appears during the Confrontation at the Palace and can be spoken to again to achieve the same result. Finally, he appears during Stand Strong at Shambhala as an enemy commander, where he can be spoken to again. Doing so all three times causes him to join the Alliance/Rebellion as a playable unit for the final two chapters. Otherwise, he transforms into a Demonic Beast after being defeated and is slain in battle.
Three Hopes
While not shown as a student, Georgius accompanies the Black Eagles to Enbarr during the brief Academy Phase and joins Lord Arundel in The Shadows of Adrestia. In the Scarlet Blaze route, Georgius can first be encountered optionally in Enshrouded Memories, and will retreat after being defeated. He next appears in Severing the Past, fighting alongside Kronya to defend Fort Merceus. He retreats after being defeated, and does not appear again until A Path Forward. If encountered in Enshrouded Memories, securing the base Georgius guards will cause him to become an ally. Otherwise, he does not attack civilians and will not engage with the Imperial Army unless attacked directly. Defeating him causes him to transform into a Demonic Beast before being slain. In the Azure Gleam route, Georgius appears in The King Awakens alongside Cornelia and retreats with her. He later appears in Fanaticism and Clash of Torment with Myson. If encountered in Evil's Bane and Love's Protection, Georgius is defeated alongside Myson and Kronya, withdrawing. Finally, he defends the chapel in The End of Tragedy. If battled in the optional encounter, he surrenders after being defeated. If not, he transforms into a Demonic Beast before being slain. In the Golden Wildfire Route, Georgius does not appear until Darkness Attacks alongside Solon.
